We are supporting WCT in their drive to help unemployed people get back into employment, and we are hoping to spread the word of this to our members and their contacts in order to generate additional exposure and engagement for WCT.
Worcester Community Trust is one of the latest organisations to gain funding for three BBO Job Coaches under a national scheme called Building Better Opportunities. Building Better Opportunities is joint funded by European Social Fund and The National Community Lottery Fund.
Those who live in Worcestershire, are unemployed and aged 16 years and over are eligible to join the programme. Examples of those who have been on our programme consist of recently and long term unemployed, those on job seekers allowance, economically inactive, individuals with disabilities, those who wish to undertake training/education, ethnic minorities, and those aged 50 years and over.
We have three Job Coaches who are extremely passionate about providing support, advice, and guidance to those who wish to go into employment, education/training or independently job search. Individuals on the programme can expect 1:1 tailored support that will identify areas that can be improved on. Individuals will have their own action plan and will be fully supported throughout. We can offer support around CV building, information, advice, and guidance (IAG), application form writing, interview preparation, help to identify training opportunities, confidence building, financial advice, and health/wellbeing.
According to the ONS in April 2020 unemployment rates in Worcestershire rose to 4.5% from 2.3% in January 2020. With the dramatic increase in unemployment rates, we are here to help and support you overcome your barriers and achieve your goals.
